Special Event

SUPER GT x DTM Dream Race

The news that DTM will join forces with SUPER GT for a special non-championship event at Japan’s Fuji Speedway in November is an exciting new chapter for both series. It’s a unique showcase for the rules – common engine and aero regulations – that bind both series together, and which should offer the opportunity for deeper and more impactful collaborations in the future. After the guest starts at the DTM season final in Hockenheim the "SUPER GT x DTM Dream Race" will for sure get fans of both series excited.

Fuji International Speedway is located in Oyama at the foot of Mount Fuji. The track is considered to be particularly challenging because of the high speeds that are achieved here. The track became well-known thanks to Niki Lauda, who, in the 1976 season finale of the Formula 1 World Championship stepped out of his race car because he found conditions in the rain to be too dangerous. As a result, he missed out on the world championship title by just one point to his rival James Hunt.
