Anderstorp’s Scandinavian Raceway may still be uncharted territory on the DTM calendar, but it is a classic motorsport venue. Back in the 1970s, Formula 1 regularly raced here. Sweden, of course, has a rich DTM tradition: Mattias Ekström is a two-time DTM champion: and, with 23 race wins to his name, is the third most successful DTM driver, tied with Gary Paffett. Per Stureson, the 1985 DTM champion, was a Swede, too. And Swedes generally love powerful cars: the sheer variety of Swedish motorsport events ranges from the domestic round of the World Rally Championship to top-level drag racing. The announcement of the DTM round led to wide coverage in Swedish media. The premiere at this cult circuit is an event not to be missed!

The community of Anderstorp is located in the Swedish province of Jönköping. The city is known in particular for the Scandinavian Raceway, located to the south-west of Anderstorp. The facility, built in 1968, has banked corners and a long straight that was even used as a runway for aircraft. Worth a visit is also the Western town High Chaparral, less than 20 kilometres away. The theme park offers a wide range of attractions and activities for the entire family.
